What? The Riv has older rooms than Golden Gate? Hmmm..

As far as the show now known as "Others", yeah I went back and saw it again a couple weeks ago. I guess i just hope shows get better over time and with practice. Still sucks. I actually met him just before the show and again at a club afterwards. Creepy.

That "Dinner in the Sky" seems like such an incredibly dumb waste of money. Am I the only one who would feel uncomfortable strapped into a chair while you eat supper? Oh, and it's not like the wind ever kicks up in Las Vegas, either.

It's for people who have more money than brains.

ian

The first time we went to Las Vegas (2004) we did a night flight over the strip but I can’t remember the company we did it with (maybe on this short tour they’re all quite similar), and we paid maybe $70.

The tour started with a glass of champagne (in one of those plastic champagne “glasses” that fall apart when you pick them up), and you being asked how much you weigh. There were quite a few flights that night and I think they share the weight out across the flights.

There was then a “safety” film which was about 20 minutes long (felt like an hour when there’s drinking and gambling to be done). The “safety” film was 5 minutes plus a 15 minute advert of the other tours the company ran.

If all of the companies follow the same flight path my advice would be to ask if you can sit up front or worst case on the left hand side of the helicopter (as your sat in it not as you’re facing it).

In ours the pilot sat on the right with two people in the front, to his left. Then there are 4 people sat side by side in the back (two couples) the couple sat on the right (me and my husband) have a limited view out over The Strip as you fly north from the airport behind MGM Grand and up the east side of the strip to around Fremont/Stratosphere, then back down West strip.

So those sat on the left have a much better view.

To be honest, I’m glad I did it as it wasn’t too expensive, but it wasn’t quite as good as I’d hoped – hope this helps

Yeah, the "Dancing Waters" at Miracle Mile is one of the few leftovers of the Aladdin still sticking out like a sore thumb. My bet is they will shutter it for a few months.

They will

-Change the name to something less Aladdin themed (Forgot what it was called exactly, but it had some obvious ties to the Aladdin)

-Attempt to make it more "Modern and Hip" (Boring in most cases)

-Probably introduce dancers of some sort

-Basicly do what TI did to screw up their pirate show. (With a few differences thrown in)

Then again, I may be talking out of my ass, considering when I was there last, they hadn't even finished changing out the old desert flooring yet. (A couple months ago.)

On an even more different note;

I'll be in Vegas in Feb. We'd like to take a strip helicopter tour. Can anyone recomend a company to do this with? There seem to be quite a few to choose from. Any advice would be appreciated.

You mention MGM players club. Was trying to get into the site a couple of days ago and it was offline. It is back up and running today, think it has had an upgrade ( have not been on it for a while so not positive ). Might be worth checking out.
