Once again this year, we’ll be doing a live version of Five Hundy by Midnight in all of its drunken glory. Our comrades on The Strip and Vegas Gang will be conducting themselves in a much more professional manner, no doubt.

The alcohol has long worn off, but we’re still a bit buzzed from Vegas Podcast-a-Palooza. We’ll be yapping about it extensively on this weekend’s show. In the meantime, check out the cool-ass article Steve Friess wrote about the event for Las Vegas Weekly.

While you’re at it, listen to the episodes of The Strip and Vegas Gang also recorded live during the event. It was truly an honor to share the stage with Steve and Miles from The Strip, and Hunter, Chuckmonster, David, Jeff and Dr. Dave from Vegas Gang. We can’t say enough good things about these guys and their shows.

Finally, thanks so much to everyone who came out to the big event. As Steve mentioned in his article, we were all wondering whether we would be doing our shows in a large room with only a few people. Much to our surprise, the room was nearly full. Meeting so many people who have called and e-mailed over the years (and seeing a few familiar faces in the audience) was quite a rush.

Oh yeah… Pam Dawber, Carrot Top and Jeff Goldblum were at the show too. (Thanks for the picture, Megan.)

I’m finally moving the site to a new Web host this weekend. In hopes of making the migration as easy as possible, I’m turning off commenting for a few days. The Site is Back… Sort of

For the second time in two months, the server hosting our site crashed. Our Web host, Midphase, took four days to get the site back online (again). Unfortunately, recent data has been corrupted, so we lost everything from the past two months. I have backups of all of the posts and the comments and will be working to get everything online as soon as possible. As a result of all of this fun, show #158 is going to be delayed by a few days. Once I have everything working, I’ll be switching Web hosts in hopes this doesn’t happen again. Thanks for your patience.

As promised, we are checking in from Las Vegas. We have lots of stuff to talk about on the podcast upon our return. Here’s a two second summary of our trip: weather good, drinking good, dining very good, gambling bad. We have had numerous celebrity sightings (including Jeremy Piven, so Michele’s life is complete) and have hung out with a few of listeners. Good times. An Update from Vegas

I’m just checking in with a quick update. I’m glad everyone enjoyed the crickets on the last podcast. Not exactly the typical Vegas Strip sounds. It’s hard to pull myself away from the machines to record and upload a podcast, so this will have to do for now. The video poker gods continue to smile upon me so I’m still up for the trip, which is nice. Michele isn’t doing quite so well, but she seems happy with her shopping jackpots instead. We spent Thursday night downtown and had a decent time. We stayed away from the deep fried twinkies this time around, which was a smart move. We’ll have lots more details whenever we might take some time to record. I’m not sure whether it will be tonight, tomorrow or Tuesday, but it’ll happen eventually. We made it back home safely. My wallet is a little lighter and my clothes are fitting a little tighter, but that’s how it sometimes goes. I didn’t record even half of the things I had hoped, but I managed to squeeze in a few soundseeing tours, some highlights of a drunken jaunt downtown, a very special karaoke performance from Barbary Coast and more. I’m feeling pretty lazy as I always do when I return from Las Vegas, so I’m just going to give up on the idea of recording a show before this weekend. Leaving Las Vegas

Well, it’s over. Another trip to Vegas here and gone. I’m at the McCarran International Airport just an hour from take off. Had a blast for the past five days. Lost some money but at least got a ton of play for my money. I’m planning to record and post a complete wrap-up podcast this weekend. A quick summary: Many dollars were lost, many drinks were consumed, many laughs were had.

Live from Las Vegas

I recorded a show from eight stories above the Las Vegas Strip but decided not to post it. You’re not missing anything. It was pretty much just 20 minutes of drunken babbling. Just found out that Johnny Carson died. A true legend is gone.

Drank lots of drinks and gambled lots. Haven’t hit four deuces yet, so the trip isn’t official, but I’m up $20.
