Saturday Night Special: Five Hundy Live

This Saturday at 8 p.m. EDT, we’re going to record the next show or two. By popular demand, we’ll be streaming audio and doing our best to avoid distraction by any of you wackjobs in the chat room. Stock up on your favorite adult beverages and come back here on Saturday evening to be part of the fun.

Another Award Nomination

Trippies 2008 : Best of Las Vegas
On the heels of our Podcast Awards nomination for best travel podcast, we are honored to again be in the running for the Vegas Tripping Trippie Award for best Las Vegas podcast. As always, you can vote for your favorites and least favorites in a couple dozen categories. If you dig Five Hundy by Midnight, please throw us a vote. Thanks to Vegas Tripping for putting together the always-fun Trippies and congratulations to all of the nominees.

Five Hundy Nominated for Podcast Award

Much to our surprise, Five Hundy by Midnight is in the running for a Podcast Award in the travel category. Beginning on Oct. 23, listeners can vote daily for their favorite podcasts in 22 categories. If you dig the show and it’s not a hassle, please throw some votes our way. We’re up against some tough competition and it’s probably a long shot that we’ll win, but it’s nice to be nominated. Thanks to everyone who nominated or votes for Five Hundy, and congratulations to fellow nominees.

Still Buzzing

The alcohol has long worn off, but we’re still a bit buzzed from Vegas Podcast-a-Palooza. We’ll be yapping about it extensively on this weekend’s show. In the meantime, check out the cool-ass article Steve Friess wrote about the event for Las Vegas Weekly.

While you’re at it, listen to the episodes of The Strip and Vegas Gang also recorded live during the event. It was truly an honor to share the stage with Steve and Miles from The Strip, and Hunter, Chuckmonster, David, Jeff and Dr. Dave from Vegas Gang. We can’t say enough good things about these guys and their shows.

Finally, thanks so much to everyone who came out to the big event. As Steve mentioned in his article, we were all wondering whether we would be doing our shows in a large room with only a few people. Much to our surprise, the room was nearly full. Meeting so many people who have called and e-mailed over the years (and seeing a few familiar faces in the audience) was quite a rush.

Oh yeah… Pam Dawber, Carrot Top and Jeff Goldblum were at the show too. (Thanks for the picture, Megan.)
