  1. Ha! Tim’s really funny when he’s drunk. Typical drunken dialog with Michele:

    Michele: “blah…blah…blah…”

    Tim: “…huh?..wha?….WHATEVER!….”

    He he! Great stuff!

  2. I stayed at Mirage and (again) at Hard Rock this Christmas trip. Definitely enjoyed the Hard Rock much more. The people were genuinely friendly, it’s easy to get around the place, better pay tables on VP, and cuter women at the bar.

I’m surprised you didn’t visit the Center Bar, though. It’s a good place to play “Guess who’s the prostitute.”

  3. Hey Folks,

My brother and I are going to see Artie Lange from the Howard Stern show at the Luxor on Feb 3.

Does anyone have any feedback on his act.

    P.S. – It’s SuperBowl weekend.

  4. That tour of the mini-bar at the Hard Rock was beyond disturbing.

Had Tim strapped on a pair of lederhosen before he drank his ‘ass juice’; I believe the image would have destroyed me.

    Thanks for knowing my limits!

  5. About the pronunciation of Hofbrauhaus: Michele is right, the first letter a is actually an umlaut a. The combination of umlaut a and u is pronounced like “oy” in the word “boy”.

However, the emphasis in “Hof” is on the “o”, not on the “f” as in Hasselhoff.

  6. I officially request that all future sound-seeing tours are recorded in a state of full on inebriation. That was really great entertainment.

  7. Michelle is right on the Hofbrauhaus pronunciation… that exact question was covered on “Passport to Europe with Samantha Brown”, Munich episode (available on iTunes under the Travel Channel).

I had been to the Hofbrauhaus both in Munich & Vegas, and it’s a pretty fun place and a cool change of pace (in Vegas). The band in Vegas was more modern, while the one in Munich was a traditional polka band (all brass).

  8. When I was a local, the Hard Rock was a place I used to visit occasionally. They had full pay quarter Jacks or Better (which was usually good to me), great “Cadillac Margaritas,” and very pretty and competent waitresses. The rock memorabilia on the walls was icing on the cake, as were the pretty female tourists that stayed there on weekends.

I agree with the othe posters, Michele is right on the Hofbrauhaus pronunciation…
