  1. Brilliant media event. Keep it hush hush from the public so that the average joe (or 100,000 joe’s) don’t go to watch it and cause trouble and force Boyd to pay for extra police. But, make it an outstanding video display thereby guaranteeing significant coverage on every television news show around the world. Not to mention millions of Youtube plays in perpetuity.

  2. Yeah, a newscaster at channel 3 was complaining in the morning newscast about how they agreed to the media embargo on keeping the date silent despite all the calls and questions, and then after all that secrecy they went and put up a lightshow and fireworks show. She blamed “Boyd Gaming’s PR department” and knowing the media around here, I raised an eyebrow. Nice gusto.

  3. The next implosion will not be too far in the future. Though it has not been announced publicly, the plans are set. The next implosion will be The Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino. In order to save time, they are planning it’s demise before the grand opening. 🙂

  4. The Stardust implosion was very cool to see in person. The fireworks lasted a really long time and was quite impressive. I’m not a big fireworks fan, but these were great. And it’s amazing how little time it took for the whole building to just disappear. I’m soooooo glad that we were there to see it.

  5. Thank you so much for sending that video as a podcast. I’ve played it over and over again, because I love watching that old piece of shit get blown to bits.

  6. Stop by our new website and check out our Stardust implosion video… I was out of the country for a few weeks so my blog posting has been lacking as of late, but I’m back and migrated “While Las Vegas Sleeps…” to our own server now.. My partner was able to take the video equipment out and shoot the implosion while I was gone and I was just able to get it edited and posted yesterday evening. Hope you enjoy it.

Here’s the site link with the video

    Cheers!
