  1. I’m glad we didn’t have to wait too long into 2008 for the first episode of the year.

Best wishes to you both for a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2008.

  2. “Fontana Lounge at Bellagio repopens”

Repopens? Is that like Jiffy-Pop popcorn?

Or is that a new slang word? As in, “Yeah, that new place at Bellagio is repopen, man. I mean really repopen. There was some repopen honnies all over that place. For real.”

I’m just not hip to these new phrases.

  3. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but there is STILL too much Celine in Caesars and around Vegas. When I arrived on Dec. 18th, the was still on the side of buses and I heard ads for her in the airport. She still had her store running full speed and a few posters in Caesars.

Bette’s poster was up on the marquee outside, but it’s still a Celine money machine inside, at least up to the time I left on the 27th.

  4. The Luxor considers itself the only pyramid shaped building in the world? A quick Google seach will show differently. There is a church in Las Vegas in the shape of a pyramid, there is Cal State Long Beach, oh and the Louvre.

  5. pabst blue ribbon is NOT below old milwaukee or busch on the beer ladder.
it IS a stronger flavored beer compared to those two thin lifeless brands.
and no i don’t work for them or even drink the stuff very often, (have one every two or three years)

it is the nations third largest brewer…and it doesnt even own any breweries anymore. (all their family of brands are contract brewed by miller)

i bring all this up because you dont seem to know much about this beer.
    thanks for your time
    weave

  6. Bill from Dallas– wait ’til you see the commercial where Gilad says he can’t wait to get his hands on your body.

weave– we’re not a beer podcast, and we never claimed to be beer experts, but thanks for the info.

  7. Would this be classified as a tomb when there aren’t sporting events??

The Pyramid Arena in Memphis Tennessee is one of the most uniquely designed structures on earth. The 32 story Pyramid is the third largest pyramid in the world and soars even taller than the Statue of Liberty or the Taj Mahal. Managed and operated by SMG, this 21,000 seat sports and entertainment facility is home to the NBA Memphis Grizzlies and the University of Memphis Men’s Basketball Program and is well known for hosting national basketball tournaments, concerts and family shows.

  8. Aren’t the pyramids in Egypt something like 4000 years old? Even by life + 70 years, these things are public domain.

  9. So let me get this right- You have spies who follow me around to the comedy club and call you to report on my whereabouts and you moniter Heather’s MySpace page which means you probably also moniter mine and my website… Hmmm…

  10. Finally getting to listen to your latest podcast. I found your site quite by accident, and now don’t miss a week. Thanks — you two are fun! I did New Year’s in Vegas at Paris — the party regimen is familiar by now, but still something enjoyable to do with friends. To waste time on New Year’s day we went to the Mac King show at Harrah’s. (Hey, I’ve seen most everything else — it was not first on my list.) Since you mentioned magician’s, I have to contradict you a bit. Okay — his show is a bit suggestive for something advertised as family friendly, and maybe is is a tad creepy, but he does not wear black. He wears a suit — PLAID from head to toe to vest. Lovely.

Happy, joyful, peaceful, prosperous, healthy New Year to you both!

  11. Gilad Janklowicz???
    Totally hilarious!
I used to work-out to that guy’s ESPN show in the early 90’s when I was in college. Thanks for the blast from the past!

  12. Well, for the non Brits just to mention what primetime tv we have now on a Saturday night – an impersonator talent show with the winner ( over 8 weeks ack ) getting a contract with Legends at the Imperial Palace.

According to the existing ‘Legends’ when you have made it to the show you are at the top of the game as an impersonator.

Anyway, for those who are interested in this sort of thing here is the link. My money is on Cher or Diana Ross

  13. Please tell me they’re using “The One and Only” by Chesney Hawkes as the theme song.

  14. Believe me I was listening out for Cheesy Hawkes. But nope, just generic gameshow music.
