With Linq construction underway, we’ve been wondering when O’Sheas will close. We may have our answer. According to this Twitter post, employees received a 60-day termination notice on March 1. If this is accurate (as all things on the Internet are), plan to pour out a 40 in honor of O’Sheas on April 30.
Adding to the likelihood that the end-of-April closing is legitimate, tickets for Dirk Arthur’s show in the O’Sheas showroom are available only through April 28.
And on the the other side–Just got back on Tues. All of the stores on the South side of Carnaval Court have been torn out. I talked to the clerk in the liquor store, which was still open, who told me that Wednesday (would have been 2/29) was their last day. Sad to see it go but hope for better things to come.
Sad. I never played there, and now I never will. I heard their poker game was easy.
PosTs on All Vegas Poker, seem to agree that dealers got 60 day notice as well
O’Sheas was definitely one of the more entertaining hell-holes on the Las Vegas Strip. Places like this make a nice change of pace from the high-end snobbery (and ridiculous table limits) at The Bellagio and Mandalay Bay. Please tell me Slots-o-Fun and The Boardwalk are still there?
Boardwalk has been gone for a while!! I miss those little craps tables!
It was a dump….but it was my dump.
Farewell O’Sheas.
As a local, we love OSheas. We hit Harrah’s piano bar then OSheas. We love the servers, and bartenders there. Especially the ones at the back bar by the beer pong. OSheas is a crazy fun place. We will miss the guys a lot… What I want to know is why do we need a Ferris wheel let alone two of them. Why can’t people leave things alone. Oh the Ferris wheel will be busy at first but then nobody gives a hoot about a Ferris wheel. Give me OSheas any day….

I guess that leaves Slots-A-Fun as the last lone survivor of the classic dives that I can still enjoy.

And this story was just “broke” by fox 5 in las vegas, gotta love that you guys had them beat by almost a week!
By far my best remembrance of O’Sheas:
“Congratulations. You’ve won the car. Can I see some ID please? And where would you like the car sent, Mr. Papageorgio?”
