  1. The song in the background of Hooker Hunt was the song that created Mandy for Barry Manilow originally titled Brandy.

Not one of your finest moments.

I don’t see Phil Helmuth and Dave Foley clicking.

  2. How exciting, an audio clip of Anthony Bourdain from his No Reservations show on Las Vegas (The Travel Channel). The quote was probably the most memorable part of that episode of his show about Las Vegas. Come to think of it, I find Anthony Bourdain to be the most disconnected host of any food/travel show on TV, these days. Guess thats what happens when you kill too many brain cells. lol

  3. Hey,

Enjoyed Hooker Hunt! Probably what half the guys who visit Vegas probably do. If I was there, probably ask if they take Mastercard. Priceless!

  4. Great show.
I haven’t tune in lately as I now have transplanted from Maine to N. Las Vegas.
Would like to play poker, but I “have” to go to the Peter Frampton concert at the Roman Plaza Amphitheatre. When you live here there is too much to do!

  5. When I first heard that Phil Gordon was no longer going to be part of Celbrity Poker Challenge, it made me sad. I always enjoyed his commentary and the idea of Helmuth providing insight on Sally Struther’s poker strategy…I just didn’t know.

After some intense soul-searching, I realize that this is only the first step. MonkeyPokerDome will not just appear, it will need to evolve.

Here’s how I see it happening: The audience tires of Helmuth’s unstoppable Helmuthiness and rating plummet. The logical next step is dung-hurling monkeys. Assuming Madisow isn’t available, of course.

  6. I’m glad I can help support the Podcast. The “Five Hundy” shirt arrived just in time for my next Vegas trip.

Hookers in Vegas? You must have been mistaken.

  7. Hooker Hunt was worth the wait. The background music was a huge plus. That little segment was a lot like my podcast, wander through Vegas searching, only to have it all come together in the end.

  8. Matusow would be a great host for the MonkeyPokerDome telecasts. He’d throw the poo back at the monkeys.

  9. “Monkey Poker Dome?! He’s BROKEN APE LAW!!!”

“Errr, not according to the Gaming Commission Dr. Cornelius…”

  10. Hey guys, another great show. Just wanted to let you know I have been listening to your shows every week on my Monday commute to my office in San Francisco. I lived in Vegas for 5 years so listening to you guys keeps me in a Vegas mood. Also, I was born and raised in Minnesota so your Minneesohhhtahh accents are always delightful to hear.

I loved the hooker hunt. The soothing sounds of Brandy interspersed with the porn card blower had me laughing out loud. Only in Vegas. I also like the Monkey Poker dome. While we are waiting for that to actually get built, perhaps we could create a new poker game itself called monkey poker. Could be a whole new online gambling craze.

  11. Is Hooker Hunt the slightly seedier older sister of Helen Hunt?

Seriously, nice job on that segment… I enjoyed the it way more than I should have, in spite of the Jimmy Buffet music.

  12. Great bit with the Hooker Hunt.

Suggest the next time you’re in Vegas you do a different version of this by hanging out in hotel bars and see if some girl tries to pick you up.

  13. Thanks for another great sight-seeing tour. It is a great way to revisit Vegas when we can’t do it for real.

    Thanks again!!

  14. A little business near The Strip tonight had me tooling by the Boardwalk and seeing if the clown was still there (in light of the recent minor fire at the Boardwalk). The clown was there. Tried to snap a cell phone pic … but slow night in Vegas. Even with the Bellagio fountains playing, traffic wasn’t stop and go.

I was catching up on podcasts during the drive and had Five Hundy from Sunday in. As I made a left from the Blvd. (The Strip) onto Flamingo, the part of Hooker Hunt came up where you asked about Countryland. I almost drove off the road!

After seeing a zillion hookers during my time here, and chatting with quite a few of them when I had time to kill (waiting for friends, waiting for a show or event to start … sitting at the bar playing poker like they do … it’s how we kill time here), I can honestly say this:

Some are better looking … some aren’t. But damn … if you gotta pay for it … change your marital status so you can just go out and date who you want. Like Tim and Michelle said … they usually look like they have been driven over a few speed bumps in their life.

  15. Hooker Hunt..I gotta try that!!!! And i would hope that streets and san DO clean up the “wind blown porn” on the street!!

    AS always giys, great shows!!

Anticipate my call from Caesars pool at the end of June!!!

  16. Very impressed with Michele’s knowledge of the Montreux Pop Festival – definitely some of Duran Duran’s finest moments. BTW you’re right Spandau no longer together – in fact the Kemp brothers no longer speak to the other members.

Shame to see the Frontier go but after my recent stay, my new favorite grubby hotel is the Sahara – Nascar-tastic!!!
