  1. Pingback: The Fitz Becomes The D | Fremont Street Bars Las Vegas

  2. Fitzgerald’s, and O’Sheas, two Irish themed casinos going away at about the same time. Coincidence? I think not.

    I do like Sigma Derby.

Are there any Irish themed casinos remaining in Las Vegas?

  3. Good interview, Tim. I feel like Stevens could have given you the interview Monday night, but held off in order to give the local “big boys” more of an exclusive. Can’t say as I blame him, but it seems like he can get more love on a daily basis from your site, Facebook fan page and other sites belonging to the Vegas Internet Mafia.
I think you do a good job on a daily basis, and I am thankful for all your efforts. And I think there are thousands who feel the same way.

I’ve been a big fan of the Stevens’ work since they came to Las Vegas a few years ago. I heard Mike Brandenberg tell the Global Gaming Magazine podcast about his first meeting with the Stevens and found it telling, as it related to the Stvenes’ very quiet, in depth research and their casual first meeting. It seems to me that the Stevens’ toook a bit of a scattershot approach to Las Vegas business when they first entered the market (buying minority stakes in the Golden Gate, then the Riviera and a majority in the 51’s baseball team). But, it seems like they have become more focused on downtown Las Vegas recently, and I think they are going to become good operators there whose best days are ahead of them.
