My thoughts on the free coffee in hotel rooms are that, in the olden days, coffee use to be really cheap. It’s hot and wakes you up. Anytime you went to a diner or to someone’s house, you’d get offered coffee. In diners, you use to get free refills. It’s a hospitality thing. How much extra welcome do you feel to get free coffee? It’s so easy to offer, when it was cheaper.
